The more the OIL modules are used, adapted and shared, the more discoverable they will become by others. To facilitate this we have developed an online editor, based on the open source content management system called Magnolia, to help teachers to adapt or recontextualise the modules. Anyone with basic computer and word-processing skills should be able to use the online editor without too much difficulty. For those with some knowledge of HTML/XHTML and CSS the modules can be downloaded and edited using you favourite HTML or text editor.
Each of the OIL modules is available as an HTML or SCORM package for download and can be readily stored in a digital repository, for example Dspace or Eprints.
We demonstrate the online editor in the next section of this module and also demonstrate copying modules to a repository from the online editor and retrieving modules from a repository for use in the online editor.
